Behind the “Letters”

Jam Kat is the name of the island my brother and I always said we’d live on one day. Of course, little us thought owning an island was totally possible. Now, decades later—and after his passing—I see it as a place to send my thoughts, a way to still share a piece of me with him. Hence the name Jam Kat Letters.

Writing a poem a day (or at least trying to) helped me through a confusing time in my life. It gave me a way to make sense of my anger, sadness, and uncertainty—turning it into something tangible, into art. As you can see, I’ve moved on to different topics—it’s not all heartbreak anymore. If you relate to my earlier writings, I’m sorry. I hope you’re doing okay now too.

This site is also dedicated to the other ways I get my thoughts out. From editing videos to essay works, poetry was just the beginning of what I love. I hope you love something here too!
