fried eggs

I cook us breakfast,

fried eggs, we both love the yolk runny.

But I crack one,

and it loses its shape.

So when I serve the plates,

yours looks perfect,

and mine is the one that broke—

a quiet trade you’ll never notice,

but I’ll always make.
